BREMEN – The girls tennis sectional championship streak continued for Plymouth Friday.
This time at the expense of Triton.
The Pilgrims blanked the Trojans 5-0 in the title tilt of the Bremen Sectional.
The sectional championship is the 13th in a row for Plymouth and its 29th overall.
Plymouth, now 14-4, advances to play Warsaw (4-10) Tuesday in one semifinal match of the Culver Academies Regional. Host Culver Academies faces Peru in the other semifinal. The winners return Wednesday to play for the regional title and a berth in the LaPorte Semistate next Saturday.
Plymouth defeated NLC foe Warsaw 5-0 in a regular-season meeting in April.
Allie Berge led the way for Plymouth over Triton. The No. 1 singles player defeated Kaelyn Mason 6-2, 6-2.
Mikayla German and Carly Berger completed the singles sweep for the Pilgrims. German topped Carrie Slabaugh 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) at No. 2 and Berger beat Michala Scherer-Berry 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3.
The Plymouth doubles teams lost a total of five games in their wins.
Andria Shook and Marissa German topped Marissa Ross and Holly Stogsdill 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1. Emily Blake teamed with Ellen Smith to beat Cassie Irons and Shayla May 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2.
